Default Small Project

I've had my bike around a month now and been riding less then a week. As from my previous pictures i've had on here its a 99' f4 with the f4i front fairing and headlights. Well yesterday i decided to put on the new fairing bolt kit i bought and took apart my fairings one at a time changing all the bolts.

From the tail section the the side fairings everything went back good. And then i got to the front sections...Headlight and gauges area. Turns out he swapped out the frontstay for the f4i headlights to fit but the gauges are just zip tied in place.

I have the old fairing stay headlight and fairings. Starting next weekend im going to begin preping all the fairings for paint and swaping out the stay. Most likely going to shoot it with a cheap enamel paint and maybe a clear coat. Dont know what color i should go on it, wanted white but im leaning towards the blk/orange color now.

I get all the cheap decals i want cause my uncle has a vinyl machine so i can get some nice graphics for it in whatever color i want.

Expecting this to take about1 - 2months to complete everything, give 2-3 weekends to complete the prep work and another weekend for the paint. Then anotherweekto put the bike back togethor, hopefully i can get everything back right.

May sale the f4i front fairing and headlight on ebay. Seen them going for a few hundred bucks.

I just wish this guy would have done the work right on the bike before i bought it, going to try to finish the project by jan 16th before i head back to college.

Do you have questions, or was your post just for information ?

Just info, had nothing to do at the time so i figured i would ramble on about my project for the next month or so. Going to take two days off work this week and try to get all my prep work done in about 4 days instead of stretching it out in 2 - 3 weekends.

Have a buddy whose dadmanages and worksat body shop so he's gonna help with the epoxy bonding / bondo for all my cracks and stuff. They also have a spray booth and guns, so i may pay him some $$$ to paint the bike for me so i know its done right. Decided to go black, but not quite flat black. Dont really like the gloss either.

Will make sure to take pics of the stripped bike this sat. Maybe have it sanded and primered by then as well. May go ahead with a flat black if i can get away with a clear coat that leaves no gloss to it. Have to ask my buddy whether it can come out like that.

So it will be solid black withdecals in either orange or white.
