Silicon rectifier

Default Silicon rectifier

What is the purpose of it? Looks like it's in the clutch switch circuit. I am looking to bypass the circuit, but I am not sure if I want to run continuous current through the rectifier.

I am not sure which rectifier you are referring to. The only rectifier I know of is the Rectifier/Regulator that charges the battery by converting Alternating Current from the alternator into Direct C current.

Thanks. That wasn't the rectifier I was thinking about. It's a small rectifier under the seat in the clutch circuitry.

Hi. Looking at the photo it looks like some sort relay. Is your bike a CBR 600? If so I'll see if I can identify it in my Haynes manual (1996-)

600F1. It's wiring diagram is here. The rectifier I am inquiring about is located above the pulse generator in this diagram. Thanks!

You're looking for a clutch diode as it's called on the F2 and F3. Look at how it runs to the clutch switch. That symbol is also a universal electrical symbol for a diode.

Yeah, a simple rectifier is just a diode. Restricting current flow in one direction (AC to DC, for example) BUT - I'm after what the purpose of it in this circuit is?!

I'm going to make an educated guess, but I'm pretty sure that the circuit that the diode is a part of is the starter circuit for when you're in gear. It almost looks like it's there to trip a smaller relay in the starter relay to prevent you from starting in gear without the clutch pulled in
