Default SCS Service connector plug

2004 CBR 600 RR
Bike has a terrible miss fire and I want to use the SCS Service Connector Plug under the seatto try and diagnise the problem.

Question - can I just short across the plug (like a Suzuki) or is there a resistor or something else in the plug.

I begrudge buying one from Honda for $60, waiting 2 weeks for it to arrive, only to find out it registers no problem !!

Nick

Take it to a dealership they can check it for you. Most places will do it for free.

Cheers for the answer Tomp but a couple of points

1, dealers in London SUCK - unless its a oil change they haven't a clue (I don't trust them to even change plugs)
2, this bike is SO sick it wouldn't even make it to the dealer - motor dies after a minute or two
3, it isn't mine and I have a reptutation of fixing anything cheaply - guys round here trust me

Someone on here must have bought a SCS plug - help please !

As an update, I fixed the problem, a PC had been fitted under the tail peice but not secured so it jumped up and down pressing the buttons resetting the thing - in a rush were they? !!

I also found out that the SCS is to reset the ECU after the problem is fixed which is totally the oppisite of a Suzuki which you plug in to get the code
