Default replace fork bottom?

Don't know how to really describe this so please see the attached picture.

My fork "bottom" (where the axle/brake caliper/fender mount) has a broken bolt (fender bolt) that was drilled out poorly (got it used) and I believe it beyond fixable. Other than the "bottom part" of this fork, the fork are near brand new.

Is it possible to get this bottom part off the lower fork tube? Then I could find a bent fork that had a good "bottom" and swap it out.

Thanks,
Chris

The fork lower should be easy to remove and replace with one from the exact year and model. It is a matter of a bit of dismantling and then the bottom half will slide off the top half. I'm sure this site will have the procedure somewhere, but it is all described in the Haynes manual No 3911 Honda CBR600F4 Fours '99-'06. I got my copy off Ebay so have a look there for new or second-hand ones. Invaluable book to have for our bikes!

Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but what bike is that off of ? It's not a 1999 CBR 600F4. Are you just using it as an example, or is that the fork you're trying to get apart ? Regardless though, yes you can take the forks apart and swap parts. To what degree they come apart is dependent on what make/model of bike the fork is from.

The fork is from a 06 GSXR750 (I'm swap to that bike's triple and forks).
