Default Rear Turn Signals won't activate on brake

Hey all I am usually able to maintain my motorcycle without problem but I have a strange issue..

I replaced my rear turn signals with a bike that was one year older than mine (2007 CBR600) and they work fine - except when I press the handbrake or footbrake the center light in the back turns on, but the turn signals do not. I failed a safety inspection because of this and am trying to figure out how to fix it - any help appreciated.

I tried removing the switch below the handbrake but it seems to be functioning properly, it still works and turns on the rear light but not the turn signals - unless that's how it is supposed to be?

Just to be clear - turn signals work just fine, but dont turn on when I press the brake - normal or not normal? and if not normal quick fix?

Thankyou in advance

Hi , as you know the 06 has a plate bulb but it's integral on the 07 maybe look at the earth wire and that part of the 07 that covers the integrated plate bulb wiring
