Default Rear Brake Light Issue

hey guys... i was wondering if anyone knows how to help me fix my rear brake light... i noticed today that the rear brake pedal is sticky... meaning when i press the rear brake pedal the light stays on even after i let go of my rear brake... i am worried that someone behind me won't know that i am hitting the brake... specially in hard braking situations... please help... thanks

if the pedal is sticky, un-stick it... remove it clean it re-install it. simple. if it's the SWITCH that's sticking, then remove it, determine if it's worth fixing, decide to huck it and buy a new one, re install it.

i'm really new with all this stuff so i've not a clue where the switch is... i can take the pedal off... but the problem is if i let go of the pedal it goes back up but the only way to turn the light off is to give the pedal a tug up almost like shifting up through the gears... but i will try to take the pedal off and put it back on

if you take the pedal off, you'll see a cylinder with a wire or two on one end and a spring attached to a rod on the other, which connects to the pedal. you've just found the rear brake light switch.
