Default Rear Brake Lever and Brake light

I'm having a problem with the light coming on once the rear brake lever is engaged. The brake light doesn't come on, tried to adjust the brake lever but still no light until I apply a lot of pressure. Any suggestions? Oh yeah, its a '06 1000RR, Black.

Directly beneath and behind your right side rearset is the rear brake light switch. You'll see a circular knurled "nut" and a long cylindrical plastic piece. In order to engage your brake light earlier with less pressure, you'll need to rotate the nut clockwise which will pull the switch toward the front of the bike. Make sure when you're spinning the nut that the switch isn't also turning. Keep turning the nut and pressing the brake lever until the light comes on when you want it to.

Its a real pain in the ***, There arent many things I dislike about my bike, but that one tops the list. (I have to adjust once a month or so.) but like Z chicken said, your probably turning the whole switch instead of the adjusting nut.
