R/R leaking silicone...anyone seen this before?
So my r/r is leaking sylicone I've heard these bikes are notorious for bad r/r's but this seems out of the ordinary. I would like to know if anyone has come across this before or has any suggestions?
me thinks if its brand new.. its a cheap ebay special epoxy filled one.. Honda released an improved aluminum finned one.. I detailed it at https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f4...ne-pic-128975/ .
I replaced the one on the right with the new one on the left.. oddly enough it was preventive because there was nothing wrong with it.
Check that plug too!

So I've been testing the voltage at the battery and comparing to the specs in the manual and everything seems fine the r/r is doing its job. I'm thinkin the r/r is just low quality. I'm gonna get the finned one honda makes
The guys are telling you to replace the r/r because of the potential damage. A fluky r/r can have a cascade effect damaging your stator, battery, wire harness and other components.
I'd make it a priority to replace it ASAP.
