Problem with Headlight
Ok folks, I need some wisdom in helping me solve the problem. A couple of weeks ago I found that the low beam of my headlight was not working on my 2000 F4. I replaced the bulb and everything was cool. I did the front brake pads also and then took her out for a spin. When I returned the low beam was already burned out, but the high beam worked fine. Well I replaced the bulb again and it happened again. I said fluck that and rode it with just the high beam for the day. When I got home the high beam was burned out to.
I have checked my fuses and all are fine. My turn signals and brake light work fine. The dash still lights up. Does it sound like I have a short some where and how the hell do I find it? Thanks for any responses.

sounds like its time to get a volt meter and measure your voltage at your headlight. Also, check the voltage at the battery. Do this with the bike at ilde, then again at 2 grand, and then again at 5 grand. The voltage should never go over 14. If it does, your rectifier is bad.
sounds like a bad rectifier... OR you touched the bulbs with your fingers and they fry out fast ... similar to HID's you cant really touch the bulbs they dont like the oils in your skin...
