Default Painting Fork Tubes? Tips??

I want to paint the fork tube housings (the lower part of the forks). Any good tips on how to paint these effectively. I assume I would need to sand them up to get the paint to stick. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scotch brite works like a champ to help clean/prep paint surfaces. I do that after washing the part/s with soap water

Thanks for the tip. I thought about that, just wondering if I need something a little more coarse. Maybe like a 400grit or 600. I want to make sure it sticks.

If its just rattle can, I dont get to overkill cause its just gonna be ****ty. Otherwise you can get real crazy with adhesive promoter and all kinds of crap. Search rattlecan or something in *how to* and youll probably dig up some good stuff
