Default Painting the Engine?

I'm looking to paint the engine black.

Is there any advice/how to that I could follow that will give me a nice, finished product?

I know I need to use high temp paint and plan on using it on the engine & exhaust header.

I would recommend swinging o over to the general tech forum and asking there, this forum is normally used for people explaining what to do not asking questions so you might have better luck there.

Good point, CJ.
I've moved this to General Tech, Shift. Hope the move will get you
better answers.

Ive painted a few engine blocks, i would imagine the process being the same.

you need to take it all apart an give it a good cleaning with some kind of cleaner or paint thinner or both. the idea is to not paint the gaskets and to prep the surface as best as you can.

then tape up what you don't want printed and give it several coats of THIN layers of manifold paint. the options are limited but it works the best.

as for your exhaust, not sure what you can use, see if you can find a shop that does anodizing, (kind of looks like its blue/burnt on the tip) you can also (depending on how far you want to go) wrap it then spray ceramic paint on it in different colors.

this may or may not be an option you want to take.

the muffler is easier since it doesn't get as hot as the exhaust pipe it self.
