Default Painting Engine Covers

I really don't like the look of the stock engine covers on my F4. The baby poop green and orange just don't look that great together.

So I think I want to do one of two things. My first thought was to glass bead them, giving them the same look as the frame/swingarm. I think that would look pretty good. But I am concerned that it will make them hold dirt and be difficult to keep clean of grime. Should I clear coat them? I am affraid it might burn off... Or have them clear powder coated?

But if I am already having them shot, maybe I should just make them a satin black? I don't really wanna spend much money on it, but I would like to change them.

If anyone has blasted or polished them, cleared or powder coated their covers I would like to hear your oppinions. Also, if you did PC what did it cost.

Thanks,
Jared

On my F3 I lightly sanded them down, got some rattle can primer and some satin black grill paint and it worked awesome. Cost no more than $10 and never had a problem with it.
