Oil timing chain tensioner
(1992 cbr600f2) i have a bad rattle because of my loose timing chain. When I start the bike it goes away then about 10 seconds later it starts back up. I was wondering if these bikes just shoot a bit oil into that tensioner when they start up and there's supposed to be a little valve that keeps the oil in the tensioner while it's on and maybe the little valve inside the tensioner is bad. I bought one of those bolt type manual tensioners to use just for reliability and I can't get it to fit (probably a good thing it doesn't fit). Just want to get a better understanding of how these oil pressure tensioners work, thanks.
The CBR has a sprung loaded mechanical tensioner, not any kind of hydraulic one:

You might have the wrong version of the manual one as they should fit but are really fiddly and are are popular change.
