Default oil leak? or maybe more?

Hey Guys, just recently bought a used 99 CBR 600 F4, after taking it out one day when I got back home I noticed the oil light was on, so I just figured I just needed to add some oil, didn't know what the previous guy used so i did an oil change, including new filter, loaded 4 quarts took it out for a ride and when i got back the oil light was on again, I didn't see any blue smoke, didn't smell any burnt oil, so i figured that maybe after the oil ran through the engine i just need to top it off, added about another half a quart and the light went off and i could see the oil level again, took it out one more time and again the oil light came on, after a closer inspection i saw some oil on the exhaust pipes under the area of the oil filter. I checked that I had it on as tight as I could, any ideas of what I should check.

Are you using a torque wrench to put the filter on or are you just using hand tight option & are you replacing the compression washer that sits on the oil filter every time?

4.5 quarts seems way too much oil mang!
check to see where the leak is coming from.

Sometimes the old oil filter gasket or O-ring will stay attached to the crankcase. The new gasket on the new filter makes a bad fit against the old gasket. If yours is leaking from the oil filter, that's the first thing I would check.
