ok honda filters are made by Fram, Filtech and Honeywell.
you can't get the JDM Toyo filters here in the US, if you do it's under the name filtech as they needed a plant here to make the toyo filters for US market.
FYI...
i mentioned about using a larger filter for added capacity. just make sure that the filter is not only big but has other features as well, such as the anti-drainback valve. also check to see at what PSI the filter allows for bypass. too low for the bike and nothing gets filtered. i believe the pure one and bosch, etc. are all within spec. l
check out the excerpt regarding using the largest filter possible...

Anyway, with a larger oil filter you can increase your oil capacity, as well as the internal filtering surface area and external cooling surface area. This will help your engine's lubrication system to run more efficiently. The oil coming into the filter sees almost twice as much filter area and will flow almost twice the volume at the same pressure keeping the bypass valve closed more often. This might not seem that important for a soccer-mom's needs, but when it comes to racing, every little bit helps. ALWAYS go with the biggest filter available for your car. In the U.S.A. that would be the Purolator PureONE PL24458. If you can get oversized Toyo Roki filters, all the better.

i just want to add one thing. don't forget to fill the oil filter with oil before you install it.it takes less time for the pump to pump the oil pressure up.

I just use a regular Fram filter. I do not believe one filter is better then the next. They are all made out of the same material and do just as good of job. OEM filters are not made by Honda. They are made by a different company and slap there name on it. I really dont know who make their filters... if you look closly on the filter it will say someplace. Anyways my opinion it that as long as you have a filter on your bike you are good to go. And you dont need to change your filter and oil every 1500 miles.... dont waste your money. That oil filter is as big or bigger than most cars and trucks. It will not plug up and if it does you have bigger problems.
