Normal or not and what to do?
So I have a 94 CBR600 F2. I love this bike and so far its been really good to me. Fires right up and has enough power to get anybody in trouble. Yet now I am having a problem that has came up since I have owned the bike and not sure if its normal. Every so often(put 3,000 miles since owning) if I rip through the gears when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear it will hold in for a split second and then kick it back in netural. It doesn't do it every time and if I shift in low rpm's it never does it. But lets say out of 20 times doing it, it will do it roughly 1 or 2 times. Is this normal?
Now next thing is do I fix it or sell it? I really don't have the money to go spend more on another bike since I already have a summer car and a nice dd car and a girlfriend.
Really how hard is it to replace transmissions on these bikes?
Thank you for your time and your guidance

If the tranny isn't completely dead, you just need to kick it harder.....

But seriously, I'd say it's pretty normal. My '95 1000F has done it to me several times when I'm redlining it between 1 and 2.

its most likely your own fault. \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\meaning, you aren't kicking the gear in properly. It can hurt the tranny if you end up doign this often, once or twice here and there.. it's not a problem.
So. from now on pay attention to kicking your gear in all the way with enough force to it the end of the travel of the shifter. Keep track and see if it happens again when you are paying attention to it.

Yer , I will bet that the trans is pretty normal and needs nothing ...
I would also bet that your style and the rate at which you sound that you are ripping through the gears is the problem ...
If I try to fully thrash my 1000F especially in the lower gears from a dead stop , I quite often get some weird chit happening in the gear box department ...
False neutrals are a specially of mine ...
oppps ...10500 RPM here we come ...
LOL
If she is behaving normal under normal usage ...lower the gear lever one notch and see if your foot gets is right then ..
Preferably when your riding her ..
I have tried to kick my 1000F while on the stand and all I did was wreck my toe , I then did lots of this

Wow thanks guys for the response. I thought I had a trashered tran's. Ya in lower gears she is so smooth going in its like butter. I'll have to stop playing lighting mcqueen on her and just be normal. I thought it could be me at times but wasn't sure. You guys are great

Me and my mates back in the day used to call it the " slack foot syndrome "
pretty common for most guys to have an attack of it every now and then ..lol

(nobody else does, though.... not sure why?
)But seriously, it happens to most people once in a while. No worries, Krux!
You wouldnt think it happening like 5-7 times since ive owned it that I have destoryed it right?
Sweet what else do you guys want to talk about?
Ya I was starting to think I would have to sell the bike and then I would be screwed since then I couldn't afford another bike right now and this and that. I started to get myself worried.
