Default Newbie question?

Hi everyone, just bought a 93 UK spec CBR1000f as a non runner. Got it running but can't figure out why it's gushing out juice. It looks like it's coming out from the bottom of the carbs but only when it;s running. There is a tube which comes out from the underside of the tank which I can't figure where it goes. It looks like it might attach to the carbs somewhere as fuel comes out of it?

Thanks
Johny

G'Day Johny and welcome to the CBR Forum,

Good to see you have a CBR1000F

It'll be one of two things, stuck floats or gaskets on the float bowls.

Tap the float bowls firmly (but gently ) with a screwdriver handle to try to loosen a stuck float/needle/seat. If it's leaky gaskets you may have to order a new set. If that's the case they do take your first-born as a down payment! They are not cheap unfortunately, though a few guys on the forum have used other materials and I'll let them chime in.

Chers, SB

Thanks for the kind welcome SB.

Any ideas where the tube on the underside of the tank might go. As I said if you turn the tank right side up fuel pours out? It looks like a second fuel line but I cannot see any nozzle on the carbs it may go inro?

Welcome sir. Hope you enjoy your time here. 1 tube should be your fuel feed tube and the other your breather tube. Fuel shouldn't be coming from it. It may be that for some reason you are building up excess pressure in your tank and fuel is being forced out while the tank vents.
