New F4 owner, need advice
Hi i just bought a 1999 f4 and it has already been lowered. I think the previous owner use lowerings links and lowered it about 3 inches. I read from many forums that lowering the bike kills the handling of the bike. If the handling is not too affected than i'll keep the ride height because right now both my feet can touch the ground flat footed. I'm a new rider, about 5'6. i prefer to have both feet flat on the ground. I was thinking about raising the bike back to stock height and if i do i'll probably drop the bike on a hill or something. Once i get more experience and can perfect using one foot during stops i will definitely consider raising the bike back. But for right now any advice or comments will be appreciated.
If you wear boots it shouldn't be a probably. I'm 5'7 and flat foot it just fine and it's stock height. I have long legs as well, but if you think it's 3 inches.. that's a bit much. Did he use one of those dog bones to lower it? Cuz if so, you probably don't notice the difference in handling unless you're doing some hardcore high speed corners.
you might want to do a little more research on this. if the bike isn't lowered improperly by the shade tree mechanic.... you might be better off getting it back to stock. To lower a bike, you have to do the front and the back. Can you find out how or who lowered the bike?
3 inch is abit too much
flat footed is the best to learn
I am also your height and had an F4 and being on one foot all the time at the stop sux but worst is on hills... very scary :P
Now I am about to get an F4i with an inch down.
