Default need help with stiff clutch

the bike is a 03 600rr .so far i have taken the cable off the bike and lubed it. the cable is clean and slides freely in its case. down at the cover on the right side everything moves freely and isnt binding. clutch is properly adjust for free play etc.

my girlfriend picked up a 03 600rr over the winter to move up to this season, and the clutch on hers is a lot lighter. after about 3 hours of riding "sooner if im in town a lot " all the tendons in my wrist get so sore i can barely pull the lever in. similar to carpul tunnel.

im out of ideas as to why mine is so stiff and need to address the issue before the weather gets good.

Hi,
Is the cable really is free inside the sleeve? I have known cases where worn cable inside the sleeve snags the sleeve lining? For the minimal cost involved it may be worth replacing it.
Also is the clutch lever free when not attached to the cable? over-tightened pinch bolt can give a 'stiff' feel when pulling the lever? Does the lever return quickly enough?

Hope this helps

Rich

Girlfriend... clutch... stiff...

/derail.

A simple and free way of checking if its your cable is swap the clutch cables on your 2 bikes! It's possible the PO installed a different clutch on either one of your bikes...

It's just possible that the springs in your clutch basket are of a stronger type, but I'd double check the action of the lever as suggested and try another cable.
