Think its got to be where the new pump plugs into the pump assembly, maybe the connecter/contacts are bad

I'd get a good used complete unit and new gasket

Was looking online for a fuel sump and the whole unit with a fuel pump is 178 !!! Gonna keep looking and see if I can find just the sump

Got a new pump today and the same thing, I'm looking at the fuel pump sump right now and gonna order one
