Default My first oil change & now PROBLEMS!

I have a 03 with 3400 miles. I changed the oil the for the first time and drained the coolant bottle. I filled the bike with 3 quarts of oil and forgot to cycle the engine before riding. I rode it to work (12 miles) and it kept jerking hard and the oil light would come on and go off, and this would repeat every five minutes. After pouring more oil in the light stayed off and it rode home fine.
I've ridden it three days with no problems and after getting gas today it started again. The oil level is fine, but the light is now coming on and going off. Just looking for ideas so I don't have to go to the dealer.
Thanks

In your post you said you drained the oil and the coolant bottle? Then you said you filled it with oil but no mention of refilling the coolant bottle. Did you forget that step? If so the light might be coming on because it needs some coolant. By the way...why did you drain the coolant tank?

....and what did you mean by "cycle the engine"?

Check the ez stuff first -- if the idle adjuster gets whacked it'll cause it to run rough. Also curious as to if you refilled the radiator? 12 miles with little or no coolant will kill internals.

Sorry, I forgot to metion that I did refill the coolant bottle. I couldn't get to the filter without removing the coolant bottle. The antifreeze in the bottle looked bad, old, so I bought some new and added it.
When I said cycle the engine, I didn't turn the bike on to let the engine run for a little while to check the oil level there after.
I want to say the oil light is only blinking once when the bike is on. I'll double check when I get home. If this is the case then it's the MAP sensor?
Thanks

If you think it's the MAP sensor then maybe a hose got knocked off a throttle body. MAP has nothing to do with oil pressure.

I checked it again and it does blink once and then just stays lit. I read on another forum that in the service manual it shows what the codes (blinks) mean.
I forgot to mention that I did install frame sliders and moved a wire (little box) on the left side, but I wouldn't think this would have anything to do with my current problems.
