Default my 7k - 10k decent into madness

Hey guys.
Been meaning to post this for a while but its been an eventful year for me and I haven't gotten around to it.

The following problem plagued me for almost an entire season and I wasn't able to figure it out for the life of me. There were a few posts on here with similar symptoms but either not solved or turned out to be a different cause than mine. The cause for me turned out to be so specific that Im not sure if anyone else would encounter it or not but figured I'd throw it up here for the hell of it just in case.

O.K
I was having an issue with my bike fluttering starting around 7000 rpm , if felt like it was starving for fuel or spark. It was fine all the way up to that rpm range.
I tried checking fuel flow. did the math to see if my pump was failing to provide enough flow. Checked all electrical connections etc..
But no matter what when I got up to 7k it would start sputtering and would refuse to climb. If i feathered the throttle and managed to get to 10k rpm it would surge to life and take off no problem.

It was driving me nuts, you couldn't reliably pass anyone because you didn't know if it would go or choke half way through the pass.

Now here's the thing, I checked everything I did over the winter because it ran perfectly when I put it away after the previous season. So , must have been something I did.
Even put the old plugs back in, made sure I didn't have any lines pinched under the tank etc.. everything seemed fine.

One day I decided to open up the baffle in my pipe. I have an aftermarket exhaust I'd put on when I bought the bike, the original was pretty much non existent.
This muffler has an adjustable baffle that came with an adjustment cable, and thumb wheel you could mount to your bars or where ever. The idea being you use a thumb wheel to open close the baffle as you ride.
I never hooked the cable up because I had no intention of ever using it.

I decided out of the blue one day to adjust my baffle , open it up to get a little more sound just for the hell of it. Went for a ride , and holly crap my baby was healed lol

turns out , that the baffle seized up after sitting over the winter. So initially the baffle would move freely as the bike revved up , it would just push the baffle open , so it was never an issue.
I had ran an entire season with this pipe and it was never an issue so it was never a part of my trouble shooting exorcise.
Just go to show , just because it worked before doesn't mean its not an issue now.

I just wanted to put this up just in case one other person happens to come up against a similar situation. maybe not an adjustable baffle or something but who knows, a mouse nest or other blockage in the pipe.
