Default Mobile 1 4T Racing oil

I'm sure a lot of you guys use this oil, I do too... My question is, how many miles do you go between oil changes? I changed the oil in my bike today and the old oil looked brand new but it had 3,000 miles on it. I'm really good about maintenance, and I ride a LOT but these $70 oil changes are getting expensive... Can I push it to 5,000 miles between oil changes with the synthetic??

do you race your bike? reason i ask is because racing oil really isnt meant for a street machine. best thing to do is save yourself some cash and buy some rotella t6 or some other standard synthetic oil, only cost you about half as much per oil change.

Yeah, at least twice a month. I ride it hard and the Mobile covers both purposes... Thanks for the Rotella tip. I know they make good products so I'll look into it.

I run the same oil, I do every 3k miles but between 3k and 5k should do you just fine. Its not the cheapest but it def gives the warm and fuzzy.

Thanks for the reply! I'll stretch it to 4,000 miles this time and see if it looks any different. I don't mind spending the extra money if I know for sure I can get the extra mileage out of it.

Read through the above thread, some good real life facts on Mobil 1 and Rotella oil and how they do in our engines.

I've done mine at 8000 miles oil wasn't filthy still had that oil color to it not black, just a little bit darker no problem, book says 6000, I do mine every 6000, no problems, just street riding, not track days.
