Michelin pilot road 2 good enough for long ho distance?

Default Michelin pilot road 2 good enough for long ho distance?

Hello,
Im new here

I have a cbr 600 f4 and in the next summer i'm going from the netherlands to Turkey.. i need a tire that suits this distance and will last atleast 15k kms...
My riding style is a bit agressive i wonder if the tire in the title suits this aswell?

Your opinions?

Its designed for exactly what your talking about. Road 3 is a little better in the rain but the road 2 is an exellent choice.

Nice to hear that!
Road 3 are about 50euros more but not sure if worth it.. most of the time will be used in very hot weather and maybe a bit on cold dry weather(when still in holland).
I think road 2 are the best option, about to buy online now!
235euros both front and rear, 20 each tire to put them on and balance it.
not bad i think, dealerships asks 2x.

I've got a set of the Road 2 with 17K kms on them and they still look good. Not an agressive rider, but never had any concerns when I pushed them.

damn.. that's very good!
It's like from the day I receive my tires till summer and then 10k km of highway.
I should probably not get in trouble.

PR2 lasted me 12,500 kms before being worn out to the point of being illegal.

That was mostly commuting to work, I genuinely have no idea how you lot manage 17k+. If you ride that gentle you may as well use the original pilot roads that cost half as much.



PR2/3 seem ideal for what you want though, just don't be surprised if you ruin them before you get home especially if you are riding fast. Also consider punctures.

Will probably need to replace the front in about 2K kms or so when it reaches the bars, the rear looks better than the front. Tire pressure, road condition, rider weight, and riding style do have an effect. I don't mind the extra money for the PR2 for those occasional canyon runs.

Someone was telling me the other day that the Dunlop Q3 might be an equally good all around as the PS2. I've had two people now tell me the PS3 is more of a wet weather tire and didn't last as long as their PS2 did.

Already mounted the Michelin PR2'S.. The dealer said I wouldn't recommend them because they are ****tires, haha.
I'm in no way paying for the Continentals that you have all over the shop.

The first 20km were very very slippery, first time using new tires and I was like, maybe there went something wrong with the installation of the new tires... after 50km it pretty much worn off and the tires handles pretty smooth, not much different exprience with rain comparing to bt 016's but that's just me.

Happy and now I need to replace the clutchplates and need new oil-filter ughh:/

I've been known to get nearly 30,000km from a PR2. The owner of the dealership told me I should be ashamed.
I've had PR2s on all my bikes except the 250 - because 16 inch wheel - and the current ZZR 1100 which came with an almost new set of plain Pilot Roads. I've worn the rear out in 6000 and I have PR2s ready to go on it. My husband's ZZR 1100 has them and he gets about 20,000 from a rear and 25 from a front.
I was discussing the PR3 with a tyre guy and he says they are much, much better in the wet and surprisingly, on gravel.

As above, I genuinely have no idea how you manage that. I'm not especially hard on tyres, I just commute with a bit of haste, I've have never had a front or rear last longer than that 12.5k km. Pirelli angel ST were both toast within 9.5k km.

More likely that he makes more profit on other brands.
