low rpm sputter
Recently bought a new (to me) 07 1krr. bike is great. got a small concern though.
in first gear up to 2800rpm she is choppy to run, not a smooth acceleration at all. but once i get past there its like i hit a power ban.
bike came with a jardine slip on, pc3 and bcn air filters. any ideas what is causing it to bog out at the start?
also find it pops a lot on decel, from the slip on? from the pc3 changes?
any ideas are appreciated.
cheers

RE: low rpm sputter
i have the same bike and problem as you except i have a standard filter. we are trying to work through it at the moment, the bike has been on the dyno and had the map settings changed several times from jardine to stock and back to jardine but it still has a splutter between 2500rpm and 3000rpm. it is also starting to develop a splutter at 4000rpm. tomorrow we will take the fairing off and see if there is anty loose wires as we had the fairing off to put crash protectors on and maybe bumped something?? if you have any luck in fixing it please let me know and i will do the same.

RE: low rpm sputter
hi again, just wanted to let you know that the boys have fixed my bike! they took the left fairing off and found that the 3 green earth wires that are clearly visible were coroded. they cleaned them up and just to be sure took all the fairing and the tank off to make sure that the power commander earth wasnt loose or any other wires loose, put it all back together and test rode it, its great! went out for a ride today with lots of twistys to make sure and it didnt miss a beat! so it might be worth checking that as we found that the 3 earth wires were actually loose from when it was built as the bike only has 2500klms on it and we hadnt touched any wires prior to that. anyway good luck and let me know how you go
