If the bike was running fine before you gassed up, and the plugs look good then I would drain the gas... Owning a 54 myself I know that the gas tank has some crazy connections on the bottom, so siphoning the gas out my be your best option and get gas from a different place... Also what octane do you run? I personally run 93... I would start there and if it still acts up at least you know its not the gas...

the bike was running great before i gassed it up..the gas was from chevron.thats usually good stuff.i run the 91 oct.i did tear the air cleaner ***. off and i think its coming from the #1 cyl.i put my ear down they while it was running and its only one that cylinder.i will try draining the gas also.how can you tell if you have a fouled plug?

If you pull all of your plugs, the fouled one will be wet while the others will be dry. You can leave it plugged into the plug connector and crank the bike over while laying the plugs threaded section against a cylinder head bolt, or something else that is grounded to see if the plug sparks. It may still spark outside of the cylinder, so doing the check to see if it sparks may not work. Sometimes, they will have a weak spark and under compression, the spark is too weak to ignite the fuel. But, if it doesnt spark at all, then you know its bad.

Another way to tell if you have a fouled plug is that cylinders exhaust will not get hot. It well get warm, but hot like the others. Start the bike and let it idle for 10 seconds or so then shut it off. have a water bottle handy and spray each exhaust pipe. the one that isnt hot will be the one that is affected. this doesnt completely rule that its the spark plug, just that cylinder isnt firing for either no gas or no spark.

so i checked the plugs..they were ok.but what i did notice is that the sputter is only coming from the #1 cyl..the rest run fine.also when you put your hand over the throttle body you can feel alot of air coming out of a small hole between the #1 and the #2 throttle body.none of the other ones are affected.so its got me confused now..any ideas???Please! : )
