So I found a great deal on a bike. 99 CBR F4 only hitch is supposedly it was stolen and had the ignition punched out. So you can't start it. Assuming everything else checks out ok. Vin matches title etc. Is there anyway you know of to bypass the ignition and try to see if it will run before I buy it?

 

You'd need some decent wire, but it can be done. You'd have to disconnect the ignition switch connector, a 3 pin connector, then short all 3 wires together on the wiring harness side of the connector, not the switch side. This should bypass the ignition switch and allow the bike to run. Naturally it won't unlock the steering though.

 

does the F4 have the HISS system? If so the pink wire needs exactly 9v on it to trigger the ignition system. The key was a conductor in that system.
