Ignition Help
OK, so the bike I have has no key. I have noticed by laying on the ground and looking up near the front wheel that it is held on by 2 torx screws. I have tried several torx screwdrivers and none of them have been long enough to reach them or the bit itself is just to small. Does anyone know exactly what size torx this ignition requires? (93 CBR1000F)
I also called a motorcycle shop and asked if they could just come to my garage and unscrew them for me and they told me it takes a "special" torx and a drill or something and wanted to charge me 100 dollars to come less than a quarter mile to unscrew these 2 scews I said no way!
Any help would be appreciated very much! Thanks in advance!

What you have is called a security torx It is meant to be a type of screw head that not many people have . Not sure of the size But if you have a Northern tool ,Harbor freight or other auto tool store near you they will have a set of bits that has all sizes torx regular and the security type

The security Torx has a little pin that sticks out in the center, you can convert it to a normal Torx by using an appropriately sized drill bit and a very steady hand. Be very careful though, if the drill bit slips off the pin and starts to gnaw into the walls you're screwed.
Either buy a cheap set as suggested, alternatively if you happen to know either an electrician or appliance servicing guy they will probably have the bit you need.

Is it possible to remove the filler cap while it is locked? If so you could remove that, take it to a lock smith and have them make a key to fit.
Alternatively, it is possible to get the seat off, without the key, very fiddly, but maybe better than messing with the ignition lock.
Here's a pic of the lock mechanism under the seat.

If memory serves, you need to get a long thin screwdriver under the seat and push the part that is marked with a yellow arrow (pic 2) rearwards. Once you've got the seat off you can whip off the seat lock in 2 mins.
