tires problems
I have a 2006 cbr1000rr with a set of pilot power 2ct on it. These tires have less than a 1000 miles on them and I have a tiny whole in the middle of the back tire. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how I should fix it. I was told to try the slime stuff that goes inside, but i put a little in and its still leaking. Should I put some more slime in and keep my fingers crossed? The dealerships here in Bloominton, Indiana told me the only thing I could do is buy a new tire. No, thanks on that suggestion I'm a broke college student I can't afford to buy another new tire.
plug it or replace it. Sealant isn't going to do it, and at the speeds we typically ride, and the amount we depend on our tires to keep us off the pavement, you don't want to lose pressure.

Too broke to spend $120 on a michelin pilot power?
My advice: park it until you have the money to put a new tire on it. Some people will say patch it, but to me, it's not worth it.
I picked up a roofing nail in a brand new rear tire last fall, and I plugged it for the limited riding I planned for the winter.
I asked local shops about plugging it, like you did, even automotive tire shops and all said their insurance wouldn't allow them to plug a motorcycle tire. That might explain the reason everyone just wanted to sell you a tire.

Most shops won't do it , slime ..... ya gotta be kidding .... it ain't a lawn mower
hell I won't even put that slime crap in my car......nevermind a bike.
Best & safest route ........ buy a 120 $ tire or a Shinko for 70 bucks if that stuck for
cash.....Then get a better tire later when you have some dough .....the shinko will
buy you sometime
Only other way pull the tire off and patch it on the inside ...."IF" ..... you know what
you are doing that is...... and I don't recommend it if you are not familiar with that
process... it has to be done 100% right ....first time

I have the same tire with low mileage on it and got a puncture in it. I was thinking about the slime route, but instead, I plugged it. Sat for a day and a half, (rainy weather), and when I went out to clean my bike up today, the plug held and the air pressure was the same as when I filled it up the other day. So far the plugs are working, but it is a temp fix until my next payday in two weeks. I went out for a 50 mile round trip local ride today, speeds 60 or less and no issues. Pressure still holding out at the amount of air I put in.
In my not so professional opinion, if you are strapped for cash, plug it, and take it easy. I tried the black tire plugs from walmart and they just pulled out. So I went to my local bike shop and got the brown ones, and they have held up. Much thicker than the black ones. But, get a new tire ASAP!!!
Stay safe.
