I NEED HELP GUYS
SO I STARTED TO GET THE BIKE PREPPED FOR SUMMER AND IT WOULDNT TURN OVER, I PUT JUMPERS ON IT AND THEN IT WOULD. BATTERY COULD BE BAD I THINK IT IS WONT CHARGE ENOUGH TO TURN IT OVER. BUT WHEN I DID START IT I PULLED THE JUMPERS OFF AND THE BIKE DIED TOO. I TRIED TO KEEP GAS ON IT WHEN I TOOK THEM OFF BUT THAT DIDNT WORK EITHER. I WOULDNT THINK THE STATOR AND THAT IS BAD IT WAS FINE ALL LAST YEAR. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I COULD CHECK . HELP ME PLZ

RE: I NEED HELP GUYS
Unfortunately, our bikes do have somewhat of an "Achiles Heel" when it comes to charging systems. You probably have yourself a dead battery, and by dead, I mean deep cycled. You need a new battery and a Battery Tender. I don't know why a dealership would sell a bike without a Battery Tender to go with it!!?? Anyway, put it on the tender when you aren't riding and it will take care of your battery by "floating" the charge on it. Well worth the extra $33.00 IMO!!

RE: I NEED HELP GUYS
i posted that thread then soon after i decided that i would drop the 50 bucks on a new battery and i put it in started right up. but it doesnt seem like the headlight gets any brighter with revs? thats why i think maybe a stator, and another thing i could swear i bought a new battery last summer and it was the same one i just bought. could bad electrical system tear a battery up that quick? and i still havent really got out to ride it far just down the street i still need a couple other things after last falls spill.
anything will help , im on a budjet.

RE: I NEED HELP GUYS
Get yourself a newer, gel type battery. My 93 would eat those older, lead-acid with water batteries every summer. Go to ride the next summer and all I would get is cranking power issues. Replaced it with the maintenance free, gel type. No more problems. Battery has seen 2 summers worth of use and is still going strong.
