Not that i'm recommending lowering the bike, but that's your call. Provided that the bike is lowered evenly in front and back, then that's about the amount that you'd shorten the side stand. Error on the side of caution. You can always cut more off, but it's harder to make it longer.

Best way to measure...

Cutting the length will NOT be congruent with how much the bike is lowered.
You're dealing with a triangle/rake. Not a straight line measurement.
It's kind of like cutting off an attic-stair.

Measure BEFORE you lower the bike.

Put it on the side stand. Then take a ruler/tape/etc. and holding it vertically on the
ground. move it in on the kick until the amount you are lowering intersects with the
stand. Mark that point. That's what you will be cutting off.

Don't forget to subtract the thickness of the new foot-plate you will be welding back on.
You'll need it, or you'll just be poking holes in the pavement and dumping your bike on it's side, all of the time.

It's do-able, if you have the needed skills, i.e. can weld, other-wise, there's
a reason for the cost of the adjustable replacement stands.

Good luck, Ern
