Default How to make my 929 faster and lighter

[I have a 2000 929rr. Besides putting a 954 engine in it I haven't made any modifications. I had a mechanic friend do the engine, but now I want to make it a little lighter and a little faster. Anyone got any suggestions on where to shed pounds and get horses?

Besides the obvious mods, work on becoming a better rider. The 929 is plenty fast.

Working on the riding. The faster lighter part is a machine goal. What are some of the obvious mods you were talking about?

I think the biggest question you have to ask yourself is how much money you want to spend. There comes a point when it doesn't make sense to spend the money. But, For cheaper power, you'll want to stay external of the engine with exhaust and intake mods. Just don't expect a ton of power increase. 5-10 horsepower with exhaust, intake and a powercommander is average. if you go internal with timing and cams, you can squeaze out some more, but at a cost. To make it lighter. I think the biggest change you can make is with the wheels. Also, make sure you buy good quality tires. The cheaper tires tend to run a bit heavier.

for me, I'd throw on a slip on, power commander and a -1+2 sprocket set. and then enjoy the bike...
