Set the idle screw to two or two and half full turns in. Set the rest of the butterflies visually equal to carb two (If I recall correctly). Attach the carbs to the bike. There is a lot from this point to type out. I'll send the Honda instructions to you in a PM. You will need a carb sync for the second half though. If you don't have one, I use the Motion Pro carb sync. It works great on my 97 F3.

You're close. The air/fuel mix is turned all the way in and then back it out to specs. I think its about 2.5 turns out. On my 900 it is anyway. I'm getting ready to do the same thing. Just got everything cleaned and put back together but it needs some fine tuning. Also, I think I read somewhere that the air/fuel uses a special "D" shaped screwdriver to make the adjustment. The next thing you need to do is sync the carbs. This requires a special vacuum gauge. You can buy one off of eBay, borrow one or make your own. We're not trying to match a special number like when setting torque values, we just want to set the carbs so that they work together and not against one another. Think of taking 4 glasses of water and making them all have the same amount in them. We don't care how many onces are in each glass, just that each one is at the same level as the one next to it. Or take it to the dealer. The Honda dealer quoted me a $100. Making your own seems easy enough and that may be the route I go. Good luck and I'll let you know how mine goes for me.
