Default Honda CBR 600 FT Vibration

Hi
Just passed my test 3 weeks ago and went mad and bought a Honda CBR 600FT 1996. For the first 2 weeks the bike was great but because I am on a restricted license I had to have a restricting kit fitted to reduce the BHP TO 33BHP. When I collected the bike from the garage the bike drove like **** vibratiing badly. I took it back to the garage and they removed the restriction kit but the vibration is still there. The bike did not vibrate at all untill I collected it from the garage. Please help as I love this bike and don't want to get rid of it. I can't live with this vibration

Wot sort of vibration are we talking here? If its vibration from a handling perspective, then it more likely to be, wheel balance/head bearing/rear wheel alignment. If its a weird engine vibration, as in when you accelerate or blip the the throttle, then maybe its a loose engine mount.
Not sure of wot types of things they do when they install restrictors.

The vibration comes through the seat, foot pegs, handle bars etc. Its only since the restrictors were fitted that the bike has started to vibrate. Yesterday I took my bike to a Honda Garage and the mechanic said whaen the restrictors are fitted you have to lift up the carbs to fit the restrictors. When you do this it knocks out the balance of the carbs and if the carbs are out of balance it will cause vibration though the bike. I have booked my bike to have the carbs rebalanced for Friday costing £40 with the Honda Garage. I will let you all know if the rebalance cures the vibration.

That sounds about right... hope you're spending that money once the restrictors are in place... I'd hate for you to cure your problem, only to have to re-sync them again to get back legal. Good luck!

Had the carbs checked and the Honda garage said the carbs were spot on and did not need any ajustment. Mechanic said its the best CBR he has seen for a long time and the vibration I was feeling was normal for the CBR. I still have my boubts as I am sure it didn't vibrate as bad as this before the restrictors were fitted. Its a Bank holiday this weekend and I am going to take my son Ross down to tbe beach in Bournemouth on the bike. Bike probably needs a good run.

That is really strange. I don't a get a single vibration through my seat at all. Check your motor mounts and make sure they are all snug. I would also run through the rear suspension by making sure everything is snug there as well. But it could be that the rear tire is out of balance too.
