Hey, and F4i question.
Hey all,
Been a reader for a while, but this is my first post.
Anyway, I'm in the middle of re-doing the look of my 02 F4i. My question is, has anyone figured out a way to run an undertail exhaust on an F4i? Ive found a few things on this topic, but they are all from around 5 years ago or more. I dont have a problem with mine, but ive always loved the look of the undertail. I would just sell and spring for a CBR that already has it, but insurance is cheaper and I love how the bike fits me.
This isnt what I'm looking for.... f4i undertail exaust - CBR Forum - Enthusiast forums for Honda CBR Owners (about halfway down the page). This looks pretty awful IMO, and I'd much rather keep it as is if this is my only option. Always loved the look of the undertail, but not more than I love the rest of my bike.
I also found this... https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-...o-pics-112291/ but I cant open the pictures to see what it looked like.
Thanks in advance

i got an F4i also, why do you need an undertail? just for looks or performance?
if its for looks, and you want a cleaner look, you can cut the existing muffler and make it a lot shorter, you can also repack it if you dont want it to be too loud. ive seen people use stainless steel wool to pack around the mid pipe. all the things you can get from your local hardware store.
if you want more into let me know and ill send you pics of what i did.

it has been done, but you need to do a lot of work.
the muffler does get pretty hot so you would have to make heat shields for it.
plus on the factory set ones they are attached to the frame and faring which the F bikes dont have.
so all said, it is possible but it takes hours and hours to do.
if you really want under tail, sell the F4i and get the RR with under tail.
OR
make it a winter project as you wont exactly be able to ride it while you are working on it.
