Default HELP!!! I messed up...

Alright, so i was trying to install a new running light for my license plate when i realized that the light was an led and i would need to have a capacitor or something to that effect to put in front of it so it would light up.. since i didn't have one i decided to put my seat back together until i got one so i could ride it in the mean time..i figured i should start it to charge the battery for a minute since I'd been playing with the lights to make sure they worked before i got it all back together.. now here comes the problem (by the way I'm working on my 06 Honda cbr 600rr) it wouldn't start when i truned to crank it.. the front light would come on but that was about it.. so i figured that it may be the battery so i pulled one out of my buddy's GSXR and the same thing happened, when i turned the key on only the headlight came on.. well i put my battery back in it since i figured that the battery was ok.. well when i realized that the kill switch was flipped i turned it off and it started right up.. the bad thing... none of my gauges work.. you know how when you turnthe bike on the fuel pump kicks in and it sends the needle all the way around to the red line and back again?? it didn't do that, no gas gauge or odometer.. did i **** something major up?? I tried to disconnect the battery again and start all over but i'm getting the same thing.. the blinkers work and what not, but my neutral light won't even come on.. any suggestions?? thanks in advance for your help

its alright, i'm new to this stuff... it was a blown fuse for the tail light... i've only had the bike for 8 months.. now i know the first place to check will be the fuse box under the left fairing

Why would you need a capacitor to light a LED licence plate light?
If the light doesnt come on you may have wired it backwards.

True you dont a capacitor to light up the LED. Check all of your fuses, I had a similar problem and it was just a fuse. good luck

Are you making your own LED light? If so you will probably need a resistor to create a voltage drop. Most LED's are designed to run on a fraction of the voltage that regular bulbs run on. Just something to chew on.
