Default Could I Have Messed Something Up?????

k guys here is the story.... taking the stator cover off... a pin and the gear that the pin went through came out... i put it back in and lined it up but im not sure if i could have messed anything up... can u guys help a brother out?

im glad im not riding it for a while so i can get this problem takin care of... but i could really use some help here...

1) is the pin
2) is the gear

Doesn't seem like it could have been messed up if that's all that happened. If you're concerned, maybe try turning the engine via the drive sprocket to make sure nothing is binding.

thx kowen lol i FREAKED at first because i thought maybe the f4i had timing gears rather than a chain (which would be weird) so of course natural thought is $hiznit i messed up my timing... happy to see i didnt do that though

Just looked through my service manual. All it is is a reduction gear. So long as it meshes with both of the necessary gears and stays put, you're good.

+1 thx man, i had to adjust the gear to get the pin back in correctly im sure its in contact and in place now the cover wont even go in if its not.... good stuff.... thx bud... btw

when u doing that paint scheme u posted? looks nice i look forward to seeing it

Probably as soon as the weather turns bad at the end of the riding season. I don't really have the money for it right now, and I don't want to put my bike out of commission anyway.

this season aint lookin much better....
