ok so i have a 89 600f1. i cleaned the carbs and got it running pretty decent. im faced with a couple small problems now but the biggest is that when my bike is running and i put it n gear it dies? i really dont get why? i mean it runs and idles fine and as SOON as i put it in gear it dies? can anyone help me out here?

 

check the side stand cut off switch

 

is the clutch disengaging when you pull the lever in? (Put in gear and see if it rolls with the lever pulled in)

is the kickstand down? (Hey I've done stuff stupider)

kickstand switch? Unplug the switch from the main wiring harness and connect the 2 wires together using a jumper to simulate the stand in an "up" position.

 

it happend to me couple times when i forgot to lift the kickstand.
i was sitting there trying to figure out why it died on me........... it was me.lol

I did it with a bike I was borrowing to learn on. Thought I had managed to screw something up.
