its not to hard , ive done it a million times , although hondas are kinda the most pain in the *** for that. take ur seat off , and undo the bolt holding ur tank down , then undo the bolts at the front of your tank . find your self a stick of some sort and prop ur tank up at the front. u will see a bunck of screw around your airbox unscrew them , and then uwill have 2 or 3 holes through the middle u will need an extension and a 8 or 10 mill socket lossen those and let them just stay on the holes , lift ur airbox cover up pull the air filter out slide new one in , then put it back together in the same way i took it apart , dont worry its easier then it sounds . when u put ur tank down just take a quick look at ur fuel lines to make sure u didnt pinch one between tank and something else , i did that once b4 got few blocks away and bike died that sucked ... have fun

How many lines connect the tank? So I know how many to make sure they don't get pinched. And, how long are the lines, a few inches? I have to pull mine off to put in a new air filter too.

On the 600RR, you do not have to touch the tank. You do have to remove the tank cover, loosen the mid fairings so you can remove the inner covers. Then you have to un-mount the brain that's mounted on top of the air box. This will let you see the top of the air box. Then you can remove all of the screws to take the cover off, and then three more screws hold the filter in place. I will be taking mine out if a couple weeks to clean it and I will take pictures of the process.

That's a common nickname in the states for any type of computer that has control over the engine and/or FI system.

So yesterday I accomplished taking the tank completely off my F4i. Then getting to the air box, replacing the filter etc. It was easier than I thought 4 lines

Try it, it's not such a chore
