I'm trying to start my girl friend's 1987 Hurricane 600, but the gas pump doesn't seem to be working!!! There's no gas going to the carburators. Has anyone had this problem, and how do you check the pump?

 

The fuel pumps on these bikes only run when the engine is turning over, either while the engine is running, or when trying to start. It is possible to bypass the Fuel Cut relay to force it to run. How long has it been since the bike has run ?
