Frame Slider "bent"question
Have an F4i that has a "bent" frame slider. There is a rough spot on the under side of the slider and its a bit bent. Its bent upward. If its the slider itself or the bolt, no worries I can take care of that part. Question is: If the FRAME area, where the slider bolt goes into is bent, can that section be replaced? I would hope so, but I cant find any info on that. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

RE: Frame Slider "bent"question
The frame shouldnt be bent. Most sliders I've ever seen use the upper motormount bolts to hold the sliders on. It is not uncommon to see this bolt bend or even bust off where it is a bitch to fix. Most likely that is the case you have. The bolt is probably bent and that is all. The plastic on the slider will give LONG before you frame caves in. Good luck.

Thanks for the fast response. Its actually a bike I am purchasing. So you are saying that getting the bolt out after being bent is a big pain in the ***?? The Slider is actually aluminum. I guess I should just make sure its not stripped or another more serious problem? Thanks!

RE: Frame Slider "bent"question
A bent one isnt usually too bad, but a busted bolt will teach you new words for sure. An "easy out" would do the trick so it isnt impossible if you have the right tools. Take a look at it but it's likely not even busted or the slider wouldnt be there at all as nothing would be holding it on. A vise grip if needed will probably take it right out. Im not sure if the F4i has a "through" bolt for that particular application or if it threads into the head. That also makes a difference. If it's a through bolt, no worries man. Easy to fix. Good luck.
