Another Frame Slider Question
I picked up my new Red/Black CBR1000RR two weeks ago. Still looking for frame sliders help. Has anybody installed any brand on their 06 yet? Are they the no cut version (offset bracket), or was cutting the fairing necessary (direct bolt on)? I want the strongest brand out there (less bending or breakage in the event of a crash). I am willing to cut if necessary. Previous posts said that the offset bracket models can cause water pump damage in the event of a left side crash. Let me know what fits and your recommendations.

RE: Another Frame Slider Question
i used the type that you have to cut the fairing because of the water neck issue 15 hours labor dropping the motor you can by 2 sets of fairings for that kind of money. i set by bike on a rear stand took the fairing off then used a camera tripod to mount a laser pointer on and shot the bolt in the center with the laser replaced the fairing and let the laser mark the spot to drill. the only thing bolt the fairings all the way up before shooting the laser or your drill hole will be off. after the i took a magic marker after i installed the slidder and marked around the slidder to get about a 1/4" clearance so the fairing would not be viberating and crack works well . the only hang up you will have to cut into the gromet on the left fairing where the bolt holds the fairing at the top hole.
