Is it only a feeling, or can you hear any rattling with it?
Its quite common for that rpm range to have some buzz. It shouldn't be terrible, but it will be noticable, and its normal for there to be some at those rpms.
Also, where is the vibration coming from? Is it only in the handlebars? If so, I would make sure the bar ends didn't get removed by a previous owner. They are small rubber isolators that go into the end of the bars. If they are removed, there will be quite a bit of vibration felt through the hands.

I would start with checking the tank. Make sure its tight and not missing any bolts. Then, maybe lift the tank and make sure everything regarding the airbox and air inlet tubes are not loose. Also, check the fairing stay to make sure its tight as well. Also, when you lift the tank, look for witness marks anywhere such as paint missing or rub marks.. that will be a tell tale sign that something is rattling.
And, just for good measure, might as well check all of the engine bolts to make sure they are tight and not are broken.
It very well could be normal. but check everything to make sure its all tight.

Isn't that the range for a bad cct ?
Check your chain - drive chain- is it too tight - or is it binding (partially seized aka old , shagged ......completely knackered evvennn
) ?
This will give a (whirring sensation) when riding. As for running the motor at 4/5 k
with no load (not in gear) well yaaa it's gonna vibrate quite a bit unloaded.
