F4i speedo question
I'm not having good luck asking questions about my F4i guage conversion, but here's another one in case someone can help me out. I see that the speed sensor for the F4i is mounted somewhere on the crankcase. Since my F2 doesn't have that same port, I'm going to have to figure out a different way to get the F4i speedo to work on my bike. What if I used a front-sprocket-cover speed sensor, like on the '95 900rr? Would the F4i guage interpret that signal the same as it would the crankcase-type sensor?
I assume the front sprocket sensors use magnetism to count the number of rotations of the front sprocket, and uses a formula to convert it to MPH. How does the F4i sensor work? Any help is mucho appreciated.
