find a friend with a 929 and swap out the instruments. if his works on your bike you've isolated the problem. Once you get into instrument problems it gets costly

did you check the connection of the cable to your speedo that could be a possible solution?

another this is (shameless self promotion there is a uses set on ebay that's currently around $100 bucks and they have 32k miles on them? I know they work because I own them.

if you find out that it is a guage issue and you will need a new one, I have a brand new 0 miles set never used. never installed if your interested?

they will go on ebay in a couple days but I wanted to give the forum first dibs.

well I don't wanna jack this guys tread so ill continue on with possible solutions

the other is that this type of speedo is cam sensor or some type that is non-mechanical so it could be possible that something is interupting the signal

about how much I'd want for the guages?

well the set with the 32k miles on it sold today for $306.00 on ebay so to be honest I'd want at least that, its still less than what honda or other parts place would charge.

let me know if there are any takers because they will be on ebay by monday?

Back to troubleshooting for a minute - If you're sure the odometer is working, that looks like the main clue that it's a problem with the instument cluster. The speed sensor only sends one signal, if I'm reading the print right - and the signal also goes to the ECM, but the ECM can't interrupt it. So that's telling me the sensor and wiring are probably good.
