F4i problem... Please help!
Brief history: I've had this '05 F4i for over 3 years and it now has 29,5xx miles on it. I installed an HID kit myself when I first purchased the bike, and haven't had any problems with it until a couple of months ago when the high-beam stopped working. I don't use the high-beam that much anyway, and the main light was still working, so I hadn't gotten around to messing with it.
Yesterday, I had ridden about a mile from my house and was about to get on the interstate. I think I hit my turn signal, but I'm not sure, but the bike stalled out and wouldn't fire, but the blue high-beam indicator was on, even though the switch was off. After repeated attempts at starting the bike, with both the starter, and by push-start, it just would not fire, so I had to push it home. While pushing it, the speedometer, which usually detects even slow speeds, wouldn't move off of 0 mph except when turning the key on and it counts down to 0. Also, when I turn the key on, I don't hear the fuel pump charge, and I always have in the past.
On to today... I went out to take a closer look, and tried the ignition. The fuel pump charged and the bike fired up instantly. I turned it off and started it 2 more times with no problems, so I rode around the block with no problems and came back home. I put the bike on a rear stand, lubed and tightened the chain, took it off the stand, put tools away and went to ride around the block again, and it wouldn't start. Again, the high-beam indicator is on, regardless of the switch's position, and the high-beam light isn't coming on (which isn't new). And again, the fuel pump isn't charging.
I don't really know where to start. I've checked all the fuses, and the wiring for the headlights seems secure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. These are my only wheels!

It sounds like your problem could be the starter relay, which the Haynes manual says is on the left hand side of the battery. You could also check the fuse for corroded terminals. To check the starter relay (according to my Haynes manual) you have to lift the rubber cover and unscrew the bolt securing the starter motor lead and position it away from the relay terminal..With the ignition switch ON, the engine kill switch in the RUN position, and the transmission in neutral, press the starter switch. The relay should be heard to click. If it doesn't then it is probably faulty, but there are numerous other tests to make which I'll post to you later as I have to go out just now!
