Why out a outdated engine in a newer bike? I'm sure it would work but some modification would need to be done. I doubt the motor mounts on the f4 will work for the f2

Im not sure the complexity of it all, but Im sure there is a lot of it. Way more than I would bother with.

If you have both the f2 engine and the f4 frame, sell the f2 engine to offset the cost of a used f4 engine. Im sure the money you spend on the f4 engine will be drastically less than trying to fit an f2 engine. Wiring harness, gauge cluster, speedometer reading, cooling, engine mounts... there are a lot of things that are different and will need to be modified.

Im not certain when it happened, but somewhere in those years, the engine bacame part of the chassis, and if the f2 engine is not designed for that, and f4 engine was, it won't turn out well. Also, the swing arm pivot goes through the engine case on certain models. I think the f4 was the first year for that to happen, the f2 doesn't have that provision, so it wouldn't work if thats the case.

But, this is all just guessing, I still think your best bet is to drop in an f4 engine.

i think he means the other way around... f4 engine in an f2 frame... i dont think anyone would be stupid enough to put a f2 engine on f4 frame unless really cheap.... Hmm so maybe

but anyway, if its othe other way around... i dont know if it would bolt up 100% cuz the frames are different... i would check the mounting points first. i dont know if it would be beneficial tho cuz the f4 has ram air and if u can accomidate for the ducts then i would say ok but u would probably be starving the motor of air if it wanst
