Default Motor Work? Swap F4 to F4I

I have a 2000 CBR 600 F4

Aquiring F4I head, wiring harness, fuel rail, injectors, valve cover... will this swap right onto an F4 block? I will be on the look out for an F4I ECU as well. And on the bikes is the motor harness seperate from the bike harness?

Also Cams for this motor... what do you guys recommend? I want to lobe it up pretty good but still keep it streetable. Also when camming an F4I how do you program/flash the ECU for them?

only perks you'll gain is smoother throttle, and easier tunability.

not really worth all the work unless you're getting it all free.

Think the head will interchange.

You will need to intake fairing too won't you? as well as the header?
Doesn't the F4i have an 02 sensor?
Fawk it would be way less work to just rebuild the F4 mill or swap the entire engine...
or buy a running F4i for that matter.

Yeah im getting he header. Im getting the header, this will be simple in the sense that i will be able to run the F4 till i get the head port and polished and new valves and cams for the F4I head. Im going naked bike so the intake fairing shouodn be an issue, but the guy has that as well.

Fairings wont matter. You'll need to get a PCIII or similar aftermarket ECU to be able to program it.

Cool so they cant flash the stock, how hard is it to tune the carb setup with bigger cams? Any idea on what those ECU's run price wise?

I think PCIII's run around $200 new, so used should be cheaper.

Going from my experience with cars, the more loppy the cam the more erratic the vacuum, so it would make tuning a lil more a PITA than normal lol

I've never tuned my bike carbs, so I cant really say.

That was what i was thinking but know that with bikes there are few quirks. I hhink i will get a couple hundred miles on hte bike, make sure nothing happened to the motor in the wreck and then go injected.

The initial timing at the crank is different between the f4 and f4i aswell. There will have to be some harness modifications. It can be done but its going to be a bit of a headach. You seem to understand the engine work involved so you can probably accomplish it. Its usually cheaper to just buy a f4i engine complete from a parted bike though.
