I HAVE A CBR 1987 CBR 1000. PURCHASED IT THROUGH E-BAY, PROBLEM IS I AM HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT THROUGH MY DIVISION OF MOTOR VEH. THEY TELL ME MY EXHAUST( 4 IN ONE VANCE AND HINES 2 BROS.) IS TO LOUD. ANY IDEA HOW TO HOW TO MUFFLE THE SOUND WITHOUT TRYING TO FIND A STOCK SYSTEM?

 

i work as a car mechanic and do government inspections. i found some guys putting steel wool in thier pipe to quiet it down for inspection and then pulling it out. dont know if it would work for a bike but it does for cars. if you try it make sure you support the wool so it stays in one spot untill you take it out. again, im not sure if this will work on a bike. use your own discresion

see if you can find a stock slip-on on ebay. should be dirt cheap, and easy to swap out for the testing
