Exhaust-power commander
What do you guys/gals think I should do? My Honda dealer says I should not put my rs-5 slip on until I get my power commander. Honda states it will cause the bike to run lean or rich depending on the rpm. Honda also states removing the cables from the exhaust valve will cause it to run a little rough at low end. Is there anyone that is running the rs-5 on there 05 cbr 1000 without any re-mapping.
yea you'll run on the lean side but nothing bad enough to blow up your engine or anything.
you should run it with the PC3 dyno tuned to get optimal power.
but hey...the newer generation of bikes accounts for changes in a/f doesn't it?
i knowt he old skool f4i generation, etc. doesn't.

The instructions for my RS-5 said DO NOT REMOVE THE CABLES from the housing, mine are zip tied out of the way but still connected..I ran mine for months without a Power Commander and it was fine, but it definately runs better with it
I fitted mine without the PC3 first, i also removed the cables completley hey if a jobs worth doin ........ yeah. The bike Ran better than stock immediatley without the pc3, a little rich. I ran for 3 months before getting a pc3 and a custom map and man its a new bike.
